Improving Quality of Life
in Tabor City
The Tabor City Committee of 100 supports economic development and advances industrial recruitment within the town of Tabor City and surrounding communities.
Our Mission
The Tabor City Committee of 100 was established in 1984 by members of the Greater Tabor City Chamber of Commerce's Industrial Committee. Our goal is to improve the quality of life in the Tabor City community by promoting economic growth and advancing industrial development.
Tabor City, NC is the southernmost town in Columbus County, in the southeast corner of the state. The municipality has a population of 4,287 and is located within 30 minutes of the Grand Strand (Myrtle Beach, SC and Brunswick County, NC). In 2005 it celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding.
Tabor City’s economic future depends on a successful transition from its history as an agricultural center to an economy based on new industry and people services. In doing so, we wish to retain our historic buildings, locally owned restaurants and shops, unique museums, beautiful Lake Tabor and our charm as a small southern village. We are a friendly community where you will always be greeted with a smile whether at a football game on Friday night, an event at the restored Ritz Center, or at the NC Yam Festival held each October. We welcome you as a visitor, permanent resident, or business owner.
